Hi, I'm Nicky and I am a native English-speaker from South Africa. I am a graduate of completing a 168-hour Level 5 TEFL Certificate with The TEFL Academy, UK. Included in this I have completed a one-to-one online teaching course as well as a Teaching Practice webinar course. I am currently working as a English Language Consultant also known as a tutor of English. Previously I have volunteered my time as a primary school computer class teacher and enjoyed it very much. I love new things that challenge me as a person. In saying this, I have a real desire to improve the lives of others and I believe I can do this by teaching English. I look forward to creating exciting and engaging lessons to motivate my students and help them to learn effectively so as to enhance their lives to reach their every potential and beyond. I am a kind, patient, energetic, enthusiastic and friendly person who looks forward to offering fun classes that help with English through speaking, listening, reading and writing and grammar. I believe in instant correction, sufficient guidance and leaving necessary notes for all my students growth and understanding. I am prepared to offer these to all levels students.In my time as an employee, I have gained valuable experience in various businesses relating to retail and corporate. This has allowed me to train and be immersed in business and finance exposing me to language proficiency in these sectors. Customer service and banking became a huge part of me and has greatly contributed to how I build rapport, confidence and shape my overall personality to that of the working world. This involved analyzing needs where teaching and advising about a particular product or service resulting in understanding and satisfaction became part of my daily life. A lot of my previous roles involved me working as part of a team; bouncing ideas off each other, filling knowledge gaps and helping each other where help is needed which is rewarding for everyone. In my academic and work life, it has been part of my duties to use Microsoft Office, Zoom, Skype, MS Teams and various Learning Management Systems. I have had the privilege to volunteer my time in things that I love such as sorting books to set up container libraries and classrooms for local primary schools as well as planning fundraisers to enhance the lives of the kids in the community by leading them on hikes, handing out sandwiches and more. I find placing others needs above mine extremely fulfilling. I enjoy the outdoors and am always up for adventures. I go on hikes quite often and have gone paragliding and bungee jumping as well. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. I love reading and believe spending time with family is important. Helping those in need (community work) is a real passion of mine as well. In addition, I keep fit by walking, jogging and doing fun exercises. Let's chat on a call, I am excited to meet you!
