My name is Deena, and I am super proud to be a teacher! My purpose in teaching is to help my students grow and give them confidence to become the best that they can be in learning English. I am from South Africa and received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Nelson Mandela University, and currently completing my Honours in Psychology at UNISA. I am also certified to teach English and have been teaching for over 3 years to students around the world ranging from 3 years to 68 years old. I have a true passion for teaching and developing learners and my philosophy is to have FUN while learning. It is a privilege to be part of each student's progress in all areas of their English journey. My teaching style is based on the individual and their learning style (VARK Model). I believe using different teaching techniques based on their learning styles, tailor-made to each individual and group, enhances and benefits students more, empowering and allowing each student the courage and abilities to go out into the world and practice/speak English with confidence and joy. I love to make my lessons interesting and fun and try to teach new concepts and skills dynamically and efficiently. TPR and visual props make learning fun and effective and the more fun we can we can have learning the better. My key focus areas in lessons are on pronunciation, grammar, conversation, spelling and fluency. I am proficient in business and children English as well and occasional Psychology and Nutrition related topics.In my spare time I love to go to the Ocean and also love to exercise, swim and dive for marine fish, spend time in nature, cook up a storm and read good books that help me stay mentally fit and help me develop new and current skills to help in my lessons and also enrich my students lives.
