Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English

My name is Teacher Zuri, I am 23 years old. I graduated from Gordon College and completed my four years course of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. I have 1 year of teaching experience where I handled and taught Reading subjects for my Grade 4, 5, and 6 students. I have also taught minor subjects in Junior High School like Music, Art, Computer, and TLE. I organized various events and lead different clubs like the Art Club, Sports Club, and Glee Club which showcases students' creativity and talent. When it comes to my interest, I'm fond of artistic activities, singing, nature activities, and dancing. That's why I always love to incorporate interactive activities inside my classroom where students can freely participate and express themselves without judgment.

I am more of a kinesthetic learner, so I wanted my students to experience this kind of environment where they can have fun at the same time learning. I also believe that every students have a different area of expertise so we as a teacher have to consider all the learning approaches and diversity of the learners inside the classroom to teach effectively. As an educator, skills are necessary for determining students' needs and evaluating their performance and output. There are several strategies to increase student engagement in our classes, such as being proficient in handling Microsoft Applications and Online learning platforms to develop creative and interactive learning. This is one of the skills that I have been using since I started teaching. Since my area of expertise is helping students read fluently, and training them in phonetics, spelling, and vocabulary memorization, I incorporated technology as my primary tool in helping them to have a clear idea of the lesson, accommodate multiple learning styles, and increase learners' engagement.

As a teacher, I want to grow alongside my students because they can help me improve my techniques in teaching and provide me with fresh ideas. Therefore, I believe that receiving feedback from students is equally significant as giving it.
