Greetings! My name is Jin Raziel Agsalud, your newest English instructor! I am a 23-year-old fresh graduate from Gordon College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, major in English.
I have a lot of interest in cooking, fitness, music, and video games. Cooking, because I believe that it is more practical to make your own meals when eating outside is not viable. Fitness, because in order to build the mind, you must build the body. I love music because there is always the right song for the right mood or mental state of mind. Lastly, video games. I have an intense passion for video games because it is the medium that taught me excellent English as a Second Language. My teaching style is similar to how video games teach you mechanics: Present the idea, let the player figure it out, then show them the ropes to encourage neural development.

Not only am I proficient in English and teaching it, but I am also a bit of a techy guy. I can use the Microsoft Office Suite and the Adobe Creative Suite proficiently, albeit not in an extremely professional way. I can make lay-out designs for books, magazines, and newspapers. Graphic designing logos, posters, and more are also my forte.

My personal belief in teaching is that every student learns a bit differently. Some thrive off of practice, some thrive off of reading or watching instructions repeatedly, some thrive off of mimicry. We’re all built differently. In order for me to encourage learning, I make use of a teaching technique where I introduce the topic and allow the student to absorb it. Once the student absorbs it, I ask them to interpret it and help them perfect it. I believe that people should learn how to take failure gracefully so that they can succeed triumphantly.
