As a kid, I never knew that I would have a passion for teaching until I started facilitating online and face-to-face classes. I knew that I would want to continue in this field and so, here I am today. Hello! I am Teacher Ayu, a fresh graduate of Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in English. As a part of my degree, I participated in a face-to-face one-on-one tutoring program, a partnership with the Pearl S. Buck Foundation, on the English subject for almost four months. Also, I had on-the-job training in a high school, as a practice teacher for six months. I observed and facilitated online and face-to-face classes, prepared papers that are related to the organization, planned and created detailed lesson plans, and created classroom-based action research which was some of my accomplished tasks. I was a practice teacher in a high school and I handled seventh graders. I taught the English subject through online and face-to-face modalities. I would use games as a medium for activities since my students were kids and would use an emoji board to help the students describe what they feel about a certain matter. For example, showing a happy face emoticon to show that they agree with a particular statement or showing a sad face emoticon to show that they would like to disagree with the presented statement. Another example is, showing the happy face emoticon for stating that their answer is true and showing a sad face emoticon for showing that their answer is false.I am an introvert but I like to challenge myself in interacting with people which is why I took an education course. I like to listen to various genres of music and maybe dance a little and just like teaching, learning is a broad genre, it is infinite and fun to groove along once you find your cup of tea. I have excellent adaptability skills, perseverance, and openness to criticism. As an educator, you are continuously challenged in different ways. Being able to adapt and adjust to different concerns, doing everything you can, and being open to criticism makes you a role model that students can look up to. I certainly believe that each person has a distinct capability because we are all different from each other. According to Howard Gardner, we all have our intellectual potential that is unique from one another. Therefore, the way we learn and perceive things are different too. This is why I believe that each student shall be treated according to their needs. To discover the students' interests and hobbies are some of the things that can help a teacher improve in delivering and administering classes. In this way, the teacher is knowledgeable in strategies and ways from grabbing the students' attention, making the students focus on the discussion, and purposely making the student actively participate in the teaching-learning process.
